Virtual Machine Resource System Monitor
VMRSM is a real-time system performance monitor that accurately evaluates the
current state of your zVM system keeping your technical support staff ever
aware of the changing resource demand and loads placed upon the zVM system.
The important Control Program and Guest OS statistics are clearly and graphically reported.
You are instantly alerted to exceptional performance conditions in real-time,
not minutes or hours later. You see the problem before your users do.
VMRSM provides your Systems Programmer with a viewport to the VM System operation from any supported 3270 terminal emulation. VMRSM permits problems with zVM or zLinux Guests to be examined directly and allow the Systems Programmer to immediately evaluate and make determinations as how to correct, adjust and load balance the environment.
Categories of measurement include:
Performance management begins with knowing precisely the current running condition, resource consumption and level of service being delivered by your systems.
Most of the displayed statistics are self-explanatory, but further detailed interpretation can be found detailed in the IBM manual listed below
or on IBM's website by clicking here.
VMRSM extracts its data directly from the resident portions of the zVM Control Program.
This monitoring product will provide you with a high degree of diagnostic information at very low cost. Compare ours to other products such as Tivoli's Omegamon, IBM's PerfKit Monitor, Vital Signs, Velocity Software Monitor, or TMON. Our product is inexpensive, easy to install, easy to use and easy to interpret. Extremely low overhead, no "hooks" into the zVM Control Program, and no changes made to the system. All this for a relatively small licensing cost.
Multi-site LPAR licensing is available.
